Italian rice vialone nano PGI (vialone nano) Rustichella d'Abruzzo from selected rice fields in Northern Italy. This semifino rice variety was created in 1937 as a hybrid of the Vialone and Nano varieties. It can be described as the ancestor of Italian rice. "Riso Nano Vialone Veronese IGP" is a product with a Protected Geographical Indication, characteristic of the Basso Veronese area in the Veneto region. It is the pride of the Po Valley, where it is grown in areas irrigated with clean spring water. It is a versatile rice with round, medium-sized grains and a high starch (amylose) content. It is the most suitable rice for making risotto due to its high cooking resistance and its ability to absorb sauces. It is also recommended for making minestrone and arancini.
The Italian house Rustichella d’Abruzzo has been making fine traditional Italian pasta of top quality and high nutritional value with pure ingredients and the same authentic recipe since 1924.
