Pedemontis directly cultivates 13 hectares of vineyards, located in the forests of Roero, an area with ancient viticulture and exceptional biodiversity. The typical sandy soil gives wines of particular elegance and finesse, rich in aromas. Local and traditional varieties are cultivated: Barbera and Nebbiolo for the reds, Arneis and Favorita for the whites.
The Barbera vineyard, an old Piedmont variety cultivated in the region since 1600, is located in the Alba region. The area is 0.55 hectares, at an altitude of 270 m. Vineyard age 9 years. The harvest takes place at the end of September, with the fruit being collected by hand. After the harvest, extraction takes place at low pressures and fermentation in stainless steel tanks with indigenous yeasts, with alcoholic fermentation lasting 8 weeks at controlled temperatures.
