The history of Tenuta Mara is relatively short, compared to that of other farms in Emilia-Romagna. but the commitment, passion and study applied to viticulture have managed to make it one of the most interesting realities in the entire region from the beginning. When it was founded, the company set itself the ambitious goal of working as naturally as possible, applying the principles of organic and sustainable viticulture, for an intense product full of character that can best express the unique and particular characteristics of the land. The vines, planted with Sangiovese from meticulous local selections, are cared for according to biodynamic principles and are followed step by step, following the delicate balance of the soil and the microclimate of the environment. A continuous and arduous effort, however, that bears fruit.
Sangiovese 100%. The vineyard is located in the San Clemente area, near Rimini. The altitude is 260 m., the orientation is N.E. and the soil is limestone and clay. 5,500 roots/hectare. The harvest takes place in the last ten days of September. The fruit is collected by hand. The winemaking is natural, without the addition of yeast. After extraction, the skin remains and is soaked in the must for 30 days. The alcoholic fermentation takes place in large oak and lasts 1 ½ months without controlled temperatures. Remaining on the lees for 1 5 months in French oak barrels. After bottling, maturation in the bottle follows for 12 months.
