Organic Kritamo from the Bio Samos farm in Karlovasi, Samos. Its unique taste will fascinate you! Kritamo or krithamo took its name from the ancient Greeks who, wanting to show the similarity of the seeds of the plant to barley, called it "krithmon". Even today, as in ancient Greek cuisine, Kritamo is served in coastal areas, usually under the name "armyra". With a rich aromatic and salty taste, Kritamo is traditionally served with olive oil and lemon. It is considered the ideal appetizer for ouzo and tsipouro, it adds a special flavor to the village salad, potato salad and omelette, while it can also be used as a base for the preparation of various dishes. It accompanies spreads, such as skordalia or taramo salad, while it goes wonderfully with tzatziki. A more elaborate way to enjoy it
is to mix the krittamo with boiled rice and chickpeas, lentils or
beans, garnish with marinated anchovies and serve as a cold salad.
Suitable for vegans, vegetarians.
