This particular variety of chickpeas is called ''la macarena'' which is the most exquisite variety of chickpeas with a special feature of their large size and wonderful taste. They come to us from Feneos of Corinth and the producer Spyros Goritsa. Chickpeas are one of the best sources of vegetable protein equal to meat, milk and soy. It can worthily replace meat in our diet. Chickpeas stand out from other legumes for the quality of proteins which amounts to 20% to 30% and contain all the essential amino acids needed by the human body, especially the amino acid methionine.
