Organic Ceremonial Matcha Green Tea Powder. Matcha is a finely ground green powder made from the finest quality authentic Japanese tea leaves. The Ceremonial variety is made from the finest, small leaves at the top of the bush, giving it a vibrant green color and a slightly sweet, smooth flavor. Clearspring Matcha comes from Uji, an area high in the hills around Kyoto, renowned for producing the finest quality authentic Japanese tea. This remote area is only accessible on foot, so it remains uncontaminated with a rich natural environment. Organic matcha is incomparable to non-organic matcha, which is grown using excessive amounts of agricultural fertilizers and pesticides. To make it, the best small tea buds are selected, dried and then ground in a granite mortar. This results in a very fine tea powder with a vibrant green color and a slightly sweet, rich but smooth flavor.
